JANUARY 2010 MEETING SUMMARY

  1. Roll Call and opening ceremonies

2. Members voted not to engrave the VFW coins to hand out to returning veterans due to the cost.

3. A plaque for Walt Parker is awaiting approval of BCVMA to hang in the building.

4. Robert Fulton reports that Cosco does not have a tent at this store.

5. A donation to the Idaho Food Bank was discussed and it was learned that Richard Hollingsworth has already made a contribution in the Post's name.

6. The District meeting and VOD/Patriot Pen awards dinner will be 13 February 2010, 1100 until finish at our post.

7. Membership was advised of Relief fund assistance to a Mark Chandler and wife from TN who needed help getting home due to excessive vehicle repair costs. The QM and CMDR spent $87.60 for Motel 6 and Gasoline.

8. Membership voted to give checks instead of US Savings Bonds to VOD and Patriot Pen winners. $75 1st place, $50 2nd Place, and $25 3rd place.

9. Members approved post participation the this years Community Environmental Fair, Saturday, April 24, 2010, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.,Optimist Park, Pocatello (by City Hall.

10. The post needs to replace Quartermaster Norris by 17 March 2010 who is moving to Meridian to be closer to family.

11. Richard Hollingsworth donated $873 worth of food to the veterans home in the post name.
